Working on things for the show

dscn8948.jpg

I have just delivered 2 floral works to the Carnival of Flowers tent, and am now back at work on new 30 x 30 paintings for our crea8 show this weekend.  Some poppies that I’ve done I’m particularly happy with.  The studio will be open for 5 days – and we’re really excited to see what people think (and like to buy!).  Must go hang up the sign now!  Anna

Well, we’ve now all exhibited our work at the recent Downlands Art Exhibition, and we are now planning for our next show, during this year’s Carnival of Flowers week – 22-39 September.

The show will be held at the Shiny Happy Art Studio, Mt Kynoch, and will feature a large number of pieces measuring 30cm x 30cm and priced at only $90.  This is the perfect opportunity to start or add to an existing collection!  And when we’re all seriously famous, you’ll be so glad you did.

Watch this site for more info and samples of what you’ll see at the show!

Nic Hohn’s First 30×30!

Flight in the Willow Shadows

Flight in the Willow Shadows

3ocm x30 cm, Acrylic and Mixed Media on canvas

I’ve just completed my first 30cm x 30cm painting for our joint show in September. The four of us are working towards have 50 paintings for the exhibition….so I guess we will all be in painting mode for the next few weeks. It has been great having a size in place, sometimes the most challenging thing can be working out what size to paint. So taking that out of the equation has been great! I can highly recommend it! I feel it will make an exciting exhibition also!

So girls I look forward to seeing your first 30×30……

Oh What an Art Show.

picture-581.jpgThe crea8 art show is over for this year, for all those that came we thank you. for those who missed out please link on to all our sites to see our latest works and catch up on all that is happening.

This year the crea8 show had over a hundred paintings, all new and exciting work, put together by three female artist’s. We were very proud of the quality of all the works on display. We are also proud to say that our art classes are coming closer to being a reality. We had an over whelming response from people wanting to learn how to crea8 in our styles, these people are wanting to explore their creativity and paint, not learn in a structured environment. So whilst Anna is busy preparing for her new arrival Nic and I are slowly putting things in place to get these classes started in the spring.

Nic has been very busy preparing work for submission to a Sunshine Coast gallery and the work she has created is spectacular, go look at her site, she has blossomed in so many area’s and it is great to be part of a team of women who can support each other through good and not so good times, even though she was very busy preparing this work she could still help me out with a project. Ain’t it great to have friends…..The crea8 team (all four) will be featured on the Queensland Weekender on channel seven(Brisbane) at 5.00pm either next Sat or the one following so tune in…You will get to see one of the most lovely places to go and have good coffee, good food and really good chocolate(ask Anna about those). The four of us painted out at the Chocolate Cottage some weeks back and each of us created a painting in our own style that represented our interpretation of the Chocolate Cottage and surrounding views. These four paintings join by a continuous fine line and will be featured on cards available from the Chocolate Cottage, there will also be some fresh paintings on display during the coming weeks. Call out and have a great coffee and view some great art, pick up a card, we are doing a limited edition run that will be signed by the four of us. The title of the paintings is “A slice of Life” picture-580.jpgThis is some of the works that awere on display at the create art show. 2007

Our Talents on Show.

Good Morning to you all, day one of the crea8 art show went really well, people flocking through the doors in droves and lots of positive comments from a wide range of people.

Anna’s Shiny butterflies glittering on the front panel drew many lovely comments, as did Nic’s newest piece in heart warning and thought provoking red and gold tones, many people stood for awhile contemplating the simple yet complexity of this stunning painting. My fish painting gathered a lot of interest, with people looking deep within to see just how many marine creatures they could see.

On the whole people love that our style are so different yet through colour and our passion for our art, they enjoy the way our works complement each other.

I am very proud to have my work on display with such talented women, and I know through this experience our friendships have bonded on a deeper level and no matter where we go on an individual level with our art businesses we will always have each others support and love.

Here are a few images from the crea8 art show enjoy.
